·         since 1996: Akademischer Rat (tenured position) at the Institute for Sociology of the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. Superviser of the teacher training curriculum "Sozialkunde". Head of two research groups, “political economy of knowledge societies” and “cultural varieties of environmental adaptation”.

·         1993-1996: Head of the research project ‚Risk control in research organizations‘ at the Interdisciplinary Institute for Epistemology and History of Science at the University of Erlangen

·         1992: Freelance scientific and non-scientific consulting activities in cooperation with different NGOs

·         1991: Assistant professor at the research group ‚Civil Rights‘ at the Free University of Berlin

·         1984-1990: PhD-studies. Co-worker with several NGOs, especially with the Gene-Ethics Network in Berlin
